Welcome to The Language Tree!

My name is Leslie Elam, and I have had the honor of serving as Director of The Language Tree since August 2024. Before joining this wonderful community, I spent 12 years in the public school system as a classroom teacher, working with students ranging from first through eighth grade.
 

My years in public education gave me a deep understanding of how critical the early years are in building a strong foundation for lifelong learning. That’s why I am passionate about early childhood education and the mission of The Language Tree.
 

At The Language Tree, I strive to create an environment where children feel safe, valued, and excited to learn each day. I believe in partnering closely with families and teachers to support every child’s growth—socially, emotionally, and academically—while celebrating their individual strengths and potential.

During my time at The Language Tree, I have seen just how beneficial a language immersion program can be for young children. Watching students naturally acquire a second language while developing strong problem-solving, communication, and social skills has been so inspiring.
